\n\tOn 21st of March, UCSI Christian Fellowship collaborated with B&P ministries to hold a robust worship concert. Volunteers clad in royal blue shirts ushered in the hustle-bustle crowd who waited eagerly outside the BOS auditorium located at the North Wing of UCSI.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOn that night, Rev. Sean Prasad, senior pastor of Good Tidings Assembly in Shah Alam was invited as a guest speaker for the importance of worship. Rev. Sean had been in the youth ministry for the past 25 years. He has spoken for 23 universities and colleges, 37 schools and 121 youth camps both in Malaysian and Singapore. Not to mention, he has also ministered for major rallies, conferences and conventions throughout the Klang Valley.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBut before that, Winson Phuah and Lisa Ping with their rambunctious worship team led the students to praise and sing to the Lord, i.e. Beautiful Savior, Everyday, Who am I, Friend of God and Sanctuary.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tStudents came forward in front of the stage. Lifting their hands in abandonment, the Holy Spirit’s presence hovered in the auditorium.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn between worships, people touched by the Lord came onstage to share their testimony. Goay Zenn Wai was the first to share about how God saved him from death in suicide due to a racked-up heavy debt. Read more about his testimony here.<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tNext, Max, a fun-loving college student, shared how he knew Jesus. Having a seed of Christ planted in him during his kindergarten years, he eventually accepted Christ after being invited to church by his university friend and going to a church camp.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“Jesus allowed me to see the gift He has given me. I realized I feel happy serving people and I am glad that God provided this gift for me,” said Max.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLastly, Rev. Sean Prasad was the final speaker. A hilarious and laid back pastor, he drew intersperse of laughter from the students.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“All of us worship something whether you are rich or poor, kings or queens and rulers or generals. Some ladies worship their Louis Vuitton while some guys worship their sports team and cars,” said Rev. Sean. “We are basically worship beings!”<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWorship in Greek means ‘proskuneo’ or ‘I kiss towards’ which is mentioned 60 times in the Bible.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“What proskuneo means is licking, like how a puppy would lick their owner regardless of how dirty he or she is. And we worship God because of who He is,” joked Rev. Sean. “It is really not a ritual or a religious practice but a relationship with God. But how do we worship Him?”<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn <\/span>John 4<\/strong>, Jesus visited a woman in Samaria who had five husbands. Thinking that Jesus is a ‘prophet’, she said to Jesus, “Our ancestors <\/span>worshipped on this mountain<\/strong>, but you Jews claim that the place where we must <\/span>worship is in Jerusalem<\/strong> (John 4:20).”<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tShe thought God could only be worshipped at specific locations! But what did Jesus reply to her?<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n

\n\t\tJohn 4:21-24<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t“Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when <\/span>the true worshiper will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.<\/strong> God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in Spirit and in truth.”<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n\t“We can worship God anywhere because we worship in spirit! And worshiping in spirit is real and you can experience the tangible power of God in your bones. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have served God for 25 years,” said Rev. Sean.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tGrowing up in a school of the rich and famous, Rev. Sean was a talented student winning trophies in singing and sports. However, insecurity gnawed in him during his teenager years. And amidst his tiresome quest for acceptance, he prayed to God in a Christian fellowship at school saying, “Jesus, if you are real, I want you to touch me and change my life. I don’t want to please anyone anymore and fit in. I am tired of pretending to be someone else.”<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“God know how you are, even the number of your hair (Luke 12:7)! In other words, He is very interested in your life!” said Rev. Sean.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAs the event drew to a close, he prayed for the students and a number of them came forward to answer the altar call. What a powerful night of encountering God in worship!<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tA successful event, may the Lord bless the Christian Fellowship and B&P in UCSI to mightily shine for Him!<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
