In many of our JICC articles, we have discussed the miraculous event known as the Rapture. Paul describes this future event as a \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">myster<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">y\u201d in<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Corinthians%2015%3A51&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b> 1 Corinthians 15:51<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where both the living and the resurrected dead in Christ will be caught up to meet Him in the air, receiving glorious, transformed bodies. The apostle assures us in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%204%3A17&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>1 Thessalonians<\/b> <b>4:17<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that we \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shall we ever be with the Lord<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u201d This is the enduring hope of most Christians.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Nevertheless, while a major percentage of Christians agree on the concept of whether there will be a Rapture, even among those who hold to this hope, debates have continued regarding its timing, specifically whether it will occur before, during, or after the Tribulation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Due to the complex and largely symbolic language used in Scripture when it comes to the End Days, and in particular, the book of Revelations which deals most extensively with the subject, the field of Eschatology, the study of end-time events, has long sparked varied interpretations surrounding this important aspect of our faith. A significant portion of this debate focuses on whether the Rapture takes place before or after the Tribulation period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>Pre-Tribulation vs. Post-Tribulation Rapture<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>Pre-tribulationists<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> believe that all faithful Christians will be taken up before the Tribulation begins, sparing them from the suffering unleashed under the Antichrist\u2019s rule. They see the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ as two distinct events, with key support found in Paul\u2019s letters to the Thessalonians. Historically, this view dates back to as early as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Shepherd of Hermas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (AD 140), which suggests believers will not have to endure the tribulation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_74003\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-74003\" style=\"width: 551px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-74003\" src=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-27-at-1.56.03-PM-678x509-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"551\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-27-at-1.56.03-PM-678x509-1.jpeg 678w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-27-at-1.56.03-PM-678x509-1-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-27-at-1.56.03-PM-678x509-1-150x113.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-27-at-1.56.03-PM-678x509-1-326x245.jpeg 326w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-27-at-1.56.03-PM-678x509-1-80x60.jpeg 80w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 551px) 100vw, 551px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-74003\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Historically, the pre-tribulation view dates back to as early as The Shepherd of Hermas (AD 140), which suggests believers will not endure the tribulation.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In contrast, <\/span><b>post-tribulationists<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> believe the Rapture will occur after the Tribulation, just before the Battle of Armageddon. According to this view, the saints &#8211; both living and dead &#8211; will be gathered to meet Christ and then return with Him to establish the Millennial Reign. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Revelation%2020%3A4-5&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Revelation 20:4-5<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is often cited, referencing believers who remained faithful through persecution and resisted the mark of the Beast.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>Reconciling Both Views<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Though these two perspectives seem opposed, we believe Scripture shows they are not mutually exclusive \u2014 both can be true. The key to this reconciliation lies in understanding the distinct roles of believers throughout the Tribulation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first Rapture will involve existing born-again Christians, as described in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%204&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>1 Thessalonians 4<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Those left behind will include many Jews who have yet to recognize Christ. During the Tribulation, a great multitude &#8211; including the 144,000 Jewish witnesses mentioned in <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/Revelation 7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Revelation 7 <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; will turn to Christ. Additionally, two prophets, often identified as Moses and Elijah (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Revelation%2011&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Revelation 11<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), will minister in Israel for 1,260 days.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">This period of revival among the Jews fulfills God\u2019s covenant promises to Abraham and confirms Israel\u2019s unique role in the Last Days. Even during the reign of the Antichrist, God\u2019s Spirit will remain active, working through these witnesses to bring people to salvation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>The Second Rapture and Christ\u2019s Return<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Second Rapture will occur at Jesus\u2019s Second Coming, as described in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%205&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>1 Thessalonians 5<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Before the final outpouring of God\u2019s wrath, Jesus will gather the saints &#8211; both Messianic Jews and those who suffered for His name during the Tribulation &#8211; into a safe refuge. This gathering is analogous to Noah\u2019s Ark, providing protection before the final judgment falls upon the world.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_73329\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73329\" style=\"width: 552px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-73329\" src=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/th.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"552\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/th.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/th-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/th-150x113.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/th-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/th-678x509.jpeg 678w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/th-326x245.jpeg 326w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/th-80x60.jpeg 80w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 552px) 100vw, 552px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-73329\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">God has delivered His people numerous times such as in the days of Noah and Moses. He will do so once again in the Rapture.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following this event, Christ will lead His saints to defeat the forces of Satan and establish His Millennial Reign. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew%2024%3A37-41&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Matthew 24:37-41<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> alludes to this moment, where one person is taken to safety while another is left behind. This passage highlights the second gathering of believers during Christ\u2019s return.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>The Urgency of Being Ready<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">We firmly believe in the reality of both the pre- and post-tribulation Raptures. The first Rapture offers the blessed hope of salvation before the Tribulation. However, those left behind &#8211; many of whom we believe will be non-believing Jews &#8211; will still have the opportunity to turn to Christ during this period of upheaval. Through God\u2019s covenant with Israel, many will become saints, ministering and leading others to salvation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ultimately, both Raptures emphasize the importance of having a relationship with Christ. Missing the first Rapture would be a profound loss, as it offers believers the chance to be spared from the trials to come. As Paul wrote in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1%20Thessalonians%205%3A8-9&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>1 Thessalonians 5:8-9<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, we are called to put on the \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">breastplate of faith and love<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d and the \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hope of salvation<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d as we await Christ\u2019s return in these last days.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_74004\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-74004\" style=\"width: 552px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-74004\" src=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/jesus-christ-preaching-crowd-amidst-golden-horizon-hope-spiritual-awakening-dusty-landscape_908344-37394.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"552\" height=\"368\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/jesus-christ-preaching-crowd-amidst-golden-horizon-hope-spiritual-awakening-dusty-landscape_908344-37394.jpg 626w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/jesus-christ-preaching-crowd-amidst-golden-horizon-hope-spiritual-awakening-dusty-landscape_908344-37394-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/jesus-christ-preaching-crowd-amidst-golden-horizon-hope-spiritual-awakening-dusty-landscape_908344-37394-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 552px) 100vw, 552px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-74004\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">As Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5:8-9, we are called to put on the \u201cbreastplate of faith and love\u201d and the \u201chope of salvation\u201d as we await Christ\u2019s return in these last days.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>The Significance of the Raptures\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Rapture, in both its pre- and post-tribulation occurrences, reflects God\u2019s grace and His faithfulness to His covenant with Israel. But it is also a reminder and a hope for every believer in Christ.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Those who turn to Christ during the Tribulation will become part of the great multitude that worships God in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Revelation%207&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Revelation 7<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In the end, Jesus will triumph over the Antichrist, establishing His Kingdom and fulfilling the promises made to His people. Our urgent exhortation, however, is to not wait for the Tribulation to make your decision.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Embrace Christ today and be ready for the first Rapture &#8211; it would be a great tragedy to miss it. For every believing Christian, it is our responsibility to share this important promise and hope with our loved ones.
