He mentions God as my Light, Salvation, Stronghold, and Shelter, ascribing who God is to him that he can trust for deliverance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The psalm reveals that David was in great danger from violent evildoers who wanted to kill him (v.2) and were lying about him (v.12). But despite this difficult and dangerous situation, David was confident (v.3), courageous (v.14), and unafraid (v.1). In this psalm, David teaches us that, when we know the Lord and trust Him, He helps us overcome the fears that can paralyze our lives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Like David, we do have the fear of the circumstances (v.1-6), fear of failure (v.7-10), and fear of the future (v.11-14). David\u2019s response to such fears is to dwell in God\u2019s house and seek Him (v.4, 8). That was his secret and chief desire.\u00a0 Surely, this is what we also can and should do, as we enter and rest in His presence. He ends by saying in verse 14, wait for the Lord, be strong, and let your heart take courage wait for the Lord!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Therefore, David rightly states in verse one, \u201cThe Lord is my light and my salvation \u2014 so why should I be afraid?\u201d (NLT). My dear brothers and sisters, is this a reality in our walk with God?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Let\u2019s read Psalm 27<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of David.<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>1 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lord is my light and my salvation \u2014<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0whom shall I fear?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Lord is the stronghold of my life \u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0of whom shall I be afraid?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>2 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When the wicked advance against me<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0to devour me,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">it is my enemies and my foes<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0who will stumble and fall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>3 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though an army besiege me,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0my heart will not fear;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">though war break out against me,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0even then I will be confident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>4 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One thing I ask from the Lord,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0this only do I seek:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">that I may dwell in the house of the Lord<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0all the days of my life,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">to gaze on the beauty of the Lord<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and to seek him in his temple.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>5 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For in the day of trouble<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0he will keep me safe in his dwelling;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and set me high upon a rock.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>6 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then my head will be exalted<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0above the enemies who surround me;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I will sing and make music to the Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>7 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hear my voice when I call, Lord;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0be merciful to me and answer me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>8 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My heart says of you, \u201cSeek his face!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Your face, Lord, I will seek.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>9 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not hide your face from me,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0you have been my helper.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Do not reject me or forsake me,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0God my Savior.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>10 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though my father and mother forsake me,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the Lord will receive me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>11 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teach me your way, Lord;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0lead me in a straight path<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0because of my oppressors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>12 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for false witnesses rise up against me,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0spouting malicious accusations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>13 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I remain confident of this:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I will see the goodness of the Lord<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0in the land of the living.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>14 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wait for the Lord;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;
