Who are the enemies? They are those who oppose not only us but also God\u2019s way of living. David trusts in the Lord (v.1-2) and asks God not to let his enemies triumph over him (v.2). He does not want the enemies\u2019 success to be an obstacle to the faith of others. He knows God will triumph over the enemies in our life, which could be the temptations of money, pride, fame, or lust. Integrity and uprightness will protect us from the enemies (v.21). Integrity directs us to walk honestly; uprightness directs us to walk in God\u2019s righteousness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E670\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><span id=\"E671\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\" style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">David also expressed his desire for guidance, \u201cShow me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.\u201d (v.4). How do we receive God\u2019s guidance? The first step is willing to be guided and to realize that God\u2019s primary guidance system is in His Word, the Bible. By reading the Bible daily and learning from it constantly, we will gain wisdom to perceive God\u2019s guidance for our life. Of course, we must obey and put them into practice. God\u2019s guidance will never let you be put to shame as you take refuge in Him (v.20).<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E673\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><span id=\"E674\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\" style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">When you are lonely and afflicted, turn to God like David (v.16). He is a gracious God who will certainly relieve the troubles of your heart and free you from your anguish (v.17). He is Jehovah-Nissi, \u201cThe Lord is my banner\u201d. He will protect you from your enemies and deliver you from all your troubles. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b>Let\u2019s read Psalm 25<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of David.<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">1 In you, Lord my God,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I put my trust.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">2 I trust in you;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0do not let me be put to shame,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0nor let my enemies triumph over me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">3 No one who hopes in you<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">will ever be put to shame,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">but shame will come on those<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0who are treacherous without cause.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">4 Show me your ways, Lord,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0teach me your paths.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for you are God my Savior,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and my hope is in you all day long.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">6 Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for they are from of old.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">7 Do not remember the sins of my youth<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and my rebellious ways;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">according to your love remember me,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for you, Lord, are good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">8 Good and upright is the Lord;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">9 He guides the humble in what is right<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and teaches them his way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">10 All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">11 For the sake of your name, Lord,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0forgive my iniquity, though it is great.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">12 Who, then, are those who fear the Lord?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">13 They will spend their days in prosperity,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and their descendants will inherit the land.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">14 The Lord confides in those who fear him;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0he makes his covenant known to them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">15 My eyes are ever on the Lord,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for only he will release my feet from the snare.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">for I am lonely and afflicted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">17 Relieve the troubles of my heart<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">and free me from my anguish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;
