{"id":60234,"date":"2017-11-20T08:33:25","date_gmt":"2017-11-20T00:33:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/?p=60234"},"modified":"2022-01-06T14:18:55","modified_gmt":"2022-01-06T06:18:55","slug":"divine-download","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/divine-download\/","title":{"rendered":"DIVINE DOWNLOAD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Before sharing a word in season to weary souls, we need to set aside time to listen to God<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">How we sometimes wish that God could download the Word to our \u201chard drive\u201d so that we no longer need to engage in serious Bible study, which is such a laborious task. But this is just fantasy, a figment of our imagination. In fact, we are told to study it well in order that we have a firm grasp of the truth and not be put to shame (<strong>2 Timothy 2:15<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-60237 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/usb.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/usb.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/usb-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/usb-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/usb-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/usb-678x509.jpg 678w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/usb-326x245.jpg 326w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/usb-80x60.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Yet those who are well-versed with scripture and the ways of God are able to receive &#8220;divine downloads&#8221;. Let us delve further into the broad ramifications of the following verse:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The Lord\u00a0God\u00a0has given Me<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The tongue of the learned,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">That I should know how to speak<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">A word in season to\u00a0<em>him who is<\/em>\u00a0weary.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He awakens Me morning by morning,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He awakens My ear<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">To hear as the learned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">(<strong>Isaiah 50:4<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>First<\/strong>, we notice that we\u2019re able to speak comforting words to the weary because\u00a0<strong>God<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>empowers\u00a0<\/strong><strong>us\u00a0<\/strong>with special wisdom. These words touch and refresh the lives of the weak because no one knows better the needs of people than God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">But before we can minister to others, we ourselves have to be ready and well-equipped. Our own needs must first be met. If we ourselves are in a mess, spiritually and emotionally, how are we going to reach out to others? (<strong>Isaiah 58:11<\/strong>).\u00a0We have to be refreshed first before we can encourage others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Second<\/strong>, we notice that the counsel comes from someone who is\u00a0<strong>learned<\/strong>. The latter is instructed not only in man\u2019s wisdom but is filled with godly wisdom and discernment (<strong>1 Corinthians 2:10-13<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Probably, he or she would be like Ezra who spent his entire life studying and obeying the Law of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0and teaching it to others (<strong>Ezra 7:10<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Third<\/strong>, we notice that such &#8220;divine downloads&#8221; occur in the\u00a0<strong>early morning<\/strong>\u00a0hours when many would be in slumber, let alone think of communicating with God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The learned one in <strong>Isaiah 50:4<\/strong> seems to take on the habit of Jesus who got up while it was still dark, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed (Mark 1:35).<strong><sup>\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">David was hungry for God\u2019s presence. While lying in bed, he meditated on God in the watches of the night (<strong>Psalm 63:1, 6<\/strong>). When he awoke, he still had this sense of God\u2019s presence as his mind had been dwelling on godly things (<strong>Psalm 139:17-18<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">We too must be willing to pay the price\u2014in terms of occasional sleep loss\u2014if we want to receive such divine downloads. What is the level of our spiritual hunger? Does this hunger impel us to commune with God in the early morning hours?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Fourth<\/strong>, we must have the ears to hear. Those who have\u00a0<strong>ears to hear<\/strong>\u00a0can understand what the Spirit is saying. We need to develop this capacity to shut ourselves from incessant \u201cinner chatter\u201d (negative self-talk) and any distracting music that seeks to entertain. As time progresses, despite initial faltering baby steps, we will learn to hear correctly like the child prophet Samuel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-60239 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/EARS-TO-HEAR-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/EARS-TO-HEAR-2.jpg 500w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/EARS-TO-HEAR-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/EARS-TO-HEAR-2-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Finally<\/strong>, if God is the\u00a0<strong>source<\/strong>, we need not fear that the supply of wisdom and counsel through this &#8220;divine download&#8221; will ever run out. Streams of living water will burst forth from our lives if we know how to tap into the Eternal Spring:\u00a0\u201cWhoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them&#8221;<strong>\u00a0<u>(<\/u><\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblehub.com\/john\/7-38.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John 7:38<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #333399;\"><strong>RELATED POST<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">What does Jesus mean when He says, \u201c<em>Whoever believes in me,\u00a0out of his heart will flow rivers of\u00a0living water<\/em>?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Footnotes:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.
