On 17 of May, Rev Dr T Jeyakumar <\/strong>shared in Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) <\/strong>about the complete work of Jesus on the Cross (Col 2:6-23).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Why Jesus is sufficient for us?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Like the analogy of adding sugar to tea, we add sugar to the tea to mask its bitter taste. In other words, we are saying that the tea is lacking something.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Likewise, if we add anything to Christ, we are saying that Christ is lacking something.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, what does the Scripture say?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In Col 2:9-10, it is written, \u2018For in Christ all the fullness<\/strong> of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you<\/strong> have been brought to fullness<\/strong>.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Because Christ lives in us, we are therefore full or complete. In other words, we lack nothing and need nothing extra to perfect our relationship with God.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This concept of fullness is indeed complete in itself, supported by Scripture.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Col 2:11 says, \u2018your whole<\/strong> self <\/strong>ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ.\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Col 2:13 says, \u2018God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all<\/strong> of our sins.\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And finally, because Christ is \u2018the head<\/strong> over every<\/strong> power and authority\u2019 (Col 2:10) and \u2018having disarmed the powers and authorities,\u2019 the completion of Jesus\u2019 work on the Cross for us is complete, perfect, and final.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

To put it simply, we cannot or do not need to add or take out anything that Christ has already done for us on the cross.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
