We should have the \u2018power\u2019 to do what Christ has called us to do. And yet, many times we fail, even in the simplest things. We do things that we know we shouldn\u2019t be doing, and we feel guilty for having done so. We repent, hoping to overcome the challenge, but more often than not, we fail again and again. The following POWER acronym will help you to remember the essential elements to building a good foundation as well as help you to grow spiritually.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong>P \u2013 PRAY<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/pray.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27204\" src=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/pray.jpg\" alt=\"pray\" width=\"265\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Christians who want to grow need to communicate with God. In prayer, we express gratitude, confess our sins, and come to our Father with requests for ourselves, and for others. In Psalms 145:18, God promises to be near all who go to Him in prayer. (Pslam 145:18 \u201cThe Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth\u201d). While it is good that we designate a special time to pray, remember that God is always with you, and you can pray anytime and anywhere \u2013 while you are driving, while you are cooking up a meal, or while you are resting.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong>O \u2013 OBEY<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Jesus said in John 14:21 \u201cHe who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I iwill love him and manifest Myself to him\u201d and in John 14:23, Jesus said \u201cIf anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Obey.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27203\" src=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Obey.jpg\" alt=\"Obey\" width=\"267\" height=\"189\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Our obedience to His commands are an indicator of our love for Him. However, we cannot do this on our own strength, and this is one of the reasons we have been given the Holy Spirit. As we yield to the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will give us the power to walk in obedience. Galatians 5:16-17 says \u2018I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong>W \u2013 WORSHIP<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/worship.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-27206\" src=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/worship-1024x640.jpg\" alt=\"worship\" width=\"565\" height=\"353\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/worship.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/worship-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 565px) 100vw, 565px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">When we say worship, the first thing that comes to mind is of Christians gathered together singing praises to our Lord during a church service, or during a small group meeting. However, our devotion to God should be one that in continuous. In public, we should indeed unite with our fellow believers to bring praise to God, as written in Psalm 111:1 \u201cPraise the LORD! I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright and in the congregation\u201d. In private, we should worship God in our thoughts and prayers as written in Psalm 34:1 \u201cI will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong>E \u2013 EVANGELIZE<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">As we tell others about what Christ has done, we will find ourselves growing spiritually. The good news of the gospel is too be shared, and you will be surprised at how many people will be touched by your testimony. No matter how \u2018big\u2019 or \u2018small\u2019 a testimony is, share it, and you will soon find people asking you about your faith. Christ gives us the great commission in Matthew 28:19-20 \u2018Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, eve to the end of the age.\u2019 Do not be afraid of sharing your faith. It may seem scary at first, but trust that God will give you the words to speak.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/evangelize.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27207\" src=\"http:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/evangelize.jpg\" alt=\"evangelize\" width=\"262\" height=\"192\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/evangelize.jpg 262w, https:\/\/christianitymalaysia.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/evangelize-260x192.jpg 260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 262px) 100vw, 262px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><strong>R \u2013 READ<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">The most direct source of spiritual growth comes from reading the Bible. It is God\u2019s word for us, every day. 1 Peter 2:2 says \u201cas newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow\u201d.
