More than 1500 people came to the \u2018Amazing Fun Fair\u2019 at Yuk Chai School in Petaling Jaya held by Emmanuel Methodist Church (EMC) on 2\u00a0November. The event was held\u00a0to raise funds in paying the balance required for a five-storey building the church invested in.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sixty games, food, and clothing stores were available for patrons, with an air-conditioned premium lounge and grand piano for the weary to rest. Popular local food vendors and hawker stalls including Kenny Rogers, Starbucks, Big Mouth Burger, Oloiya Dried Meat, Satay, Curry Noodle, Pita Sandwich, and other types of foods were also available. Out of the 13 game booth stores, \u2018Dunkin Booth\u2019 and \u2018Nerf Games\u2019 were most popular among children.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With only eight organizing committee members, Chairman Organizer Nelson Yong attributed the success of the event to the unity of the church members to serve as one body in Christ through the care groups. Although rallying the support was slow in the beginning, hearts were changed through prayer and perseverance.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, the five-month preparation bore fruits, as the church raised funds way beyond their expectations. When Nelson was asked what God taught him in the event, he learned to never doubt that God is a God who provides, be it good weather and finances.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first appealed to the congregation, I doubt if we could raise the balanced needed but I do know that I have a great big God. It is time for us to exercise our faith and do this in unison,\u201d said Nelson Yong.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Truly, God can do the impossible in whatever problems we have. The Fun Fair also had Samsung Phone Raffles and Inflatables for children and adults. Who would have thought that the church could have such a grand scale of Fun Fair? And like its name, indeed it was one amazing fun fair!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
