A new generation of worship music arises as Hillsong introduces Young & Free<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

While Hillsong\u2019s recent Australian conference was the launch platform for the new Hillsong Live album \u201cGlorious Ruins\u201d, it was also the coming of age for the sound of a new generation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The latest expression of worship from the youth of Hillsong Church, \u2018Young & Free\u2019 introduced its new single, \u2018Alive\u2019, and the response was immediate with the song becoming only the second for Hillsong to hit the Australian ARIA singles chart.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Creating such a different sound is a bold move for Hillsong, given the world is so used to their sound. Stylistically \u2018Alive\u2019 is more of a pop sound than alternative, and reflects the reality that UNITED \u2013 the previous youth worship team \u2013 has grown up.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Laura Toggs, who leads the Young & Free team, said the name was more than a label.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYoung & Free is also our message and mission. This is a generation called to stand strong in their youth and in their freedom, refusing to allow others to dismiss them for their age,\u201d she declared.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSongs arising from Young & Free are unlike anything that we have ever done before and we believe that through them young people will find life and deep, unending joy in Jesus.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
