Fifteen people from New Creation Revival Centre (NCRC) in Kuala Lumpur hosted a two-day conference in Calvary City Church in Johor Bahru.
Held to equip young Christians with biblical leadership qualities and a deeper walk with the Holy Spirit, the conference had workshops, games, dance and a heartfelt drama of how Jesus Christ would acknowledge all of our works when we meet Him in Heaven.
One of the speakers for the conference was Pr Santhana Arnold, a pastor of the NCRC. A regular lecturer in bible schools, Pr Santhana travels frequently to India and Indonesia to preach the living word of God. Her topics were ‘What is a leader’, ‘Who is a leader’, and ‘Six reasons why Teams Fail.’
Julian Victor was the next speaker who spoke on ‘Top ten characteristics of a leader.’ A leader of the Young Adults Ministry and a band member for One Generation, Julian brought fresh insights and applicable teachings that are relevant in any cultural setting to the conference.
Finally, Elizur Ravin shared ‘Seven principles of an eagle.’ A youth leader in NCRC and a keyboardist for One Generation, he understood the hearts of the youth and was able to connect effectively with them.
As shared by the speakers, the key ingredients of a dynamic leader are to be able to learn with a submissive spirit like Jesus Christ and be a good listener. For a vision to become a reality, a person with the vision should learn to communicate, motivate, coach, and counsel other team members in achieving the goal, not to mention cooperating as a team player himself or herself. Lastly, the person must persevere and not quit from achieving one’s goal. All of these qualities embody our perfect leader, Jesus Christ.
The conference was a blessing to every participant because each person would carry a leadership role somehow whether in a family, in a relationship, or at work. This conference teaches young Christians on how to truly apply and practice these principles into their leadership roles.
After the conference, a concert was held in the Victory Hall of Calvary City Church in Johor Bahru by One Generation of NCRC, a worship team of eight people.
