JOHN 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

A lot of people only acknowledge Jesus. A lot of people only know Jesus but they don’t believe in Him. When you believe in someone you openly obey what they say. Am I right?

When you are sick and you see a doctor and he gives you a couple of medication and advice to take, you obey his instructions and take those medications without fail. That’s simply an expression of your faith you place on your Doctor.

Yet when it comes to obeying God we ask a lot of questions and very often we become stubborn and doubtful and fail to obey God.

Today you will discover that a lot of people are running after all kinds of health products. Whatever is available in the market is sellable and highly in demand. So you see people running after healthy living, good food, exercise, vitamins, anything under the sun that will drive them to healthy and long life

This is the reason why whenever you are not feeling too good your whole mindset is influenced by fear. You would rather rush to see a doctor than seek your God.  You don’t rush to the church in fact, you will text your pastor and say “I can’t make it to church today because I am going to see a doctor.” Have you ever questioned yourself: Where is your faith really resting? A little chest pain is immediately concluded to be a heart attack. Did you ever realize when your future is hanging on faithless uncertainty, the Bible says it’s a curse to live like that!

DEATH IS THE ULTIMATE FEAR OF MANKIND

There is a place we are all going to end up. It’s the other side of this earthly life.. no matter who you are. Whether you are a king or an ordinary person. Whether you are rich or poor. Whether you are strong or weak. Death is the greatest fear of mankind. No one has a greater fear than death.

When we deal with this great subject of death we are of course touching a subject that has fascinated the minds of men and woman since time began. In fact we are actually talking about the mysterious subject of life after death. And the Bible talks about this subject very seriously and very realistically.

A moment lies ahead for each one of us when time shall cease and no longer available and a step into eternity will take place. What is on the other side of time?  Are you sure where you will end up? Jesus said, “I AM the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25); “I AM the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6).

Unfortunately, it is the certainty of this approaching death that brings so much of fear and depression to the minds of many people. I suppose most people do not like to think of this approaching death as a reality and therefore we continue and continue to pretend that our lives will never end. We hear of others dying and we keep assuming that it is not applicable to us.

The fact of the matter is that death is a very very certain thing to all of us.. compared to all other trivial things that is related to our lives. Death is an inevitable appointed time for each one of us. Every other appointment in life can be postponed.. but the only appointment that cannot be cancelled, cannot be deferred or postponed is the subject of death.

THE MOST COMMON DENOMINATOR OF MANKIND IS DEATH

You can’t bribe death. Death is no respecter of anybody.. it will get you at that appointed time. Death is the only appointment that human beings must keep. There is no choice, there is no option. You may be a millionaire or a bankrupt. You may be young or old. You may be  white or black. Death will get you. You cannot tell death don’t come today, come tomorrow. You cannot tell death I am not ready yet, give me some time. Death doesn’t care, it will kill you. It does not discriminate… it brings everyone to the same level. In this world the only place we will find justice and fairness is in the grave because everybody will end up there.

The greatest equalizer of all mankind is death. Everybody has to die! No matter who you are when death comes to you.. you will end up in one common place and that is the grave.

THE ONLY CONTROL YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DEATH IS PREPARATION BEFORE YOUR APPROACHING DEATH

If you are not sure of where you are going to end up after death you better make sure of your position. Don’t be caught up suddenly and you realize it’s too late. But the most important question we need to ask ourselves today it’s not about the life here on earth that we lived and finished. We need to know with the full assurance and certainly where we are going on the other side. Where are we going to end up on the other side of eternity?

Heb. 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

Man is destined to die how many times? Once. And after that judgment! God can ask you some serious questions; what did you do with your time on earth? You see the problem with death is it’s not the end in itself. It’s just the problem with this side. The Bible clearly says there is life after death in eternity.

Rev.14:13-14 And I heard a voice speaking from Heaven. It said, “Write as follows: “‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from this time onward. Yes, says the Spirit, let them rest from their sorrowful labours; for what they have done goes with them.'”

Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord from now on yet the deeds will follow them, Jesus is telling John.
