Speak Words of Victory, not Defeat !

How many times do we speak edifying words to ourselves and not words of defeat? Jesus says that if we believe in our heart that the mountain shall be removed, and say it with our mouth, the mountain shall be removed!

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. (King James 17:20)

“Your mountain may be fear, negativity, anxiety, sickness, financial problem, and family problem. But you have enough authority and faith to cast the mountains to the sea in the name of Jesus. If you believe in your heart, you will have whatever you say,” said Rev Danny Pollock from Brisbane Australia, guest speaker for the FGB (Full Gospel Businessmen) of PJ Damansara chapter (headed by Victor Liew) on 23 Jan.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is a faith of victories! And this victory comes from the renewal of our minds (Romans 12:2), which translate into remembering what Jesus Christ did for us and also declaring victorious and encouraging Word on ourselves. Rev Danny recalled how he commented he was a ‘boring Australian’ when the Holy Spirit convicted in his heart to stop saying that, lest it would become a reality.

Words are powerful, especially the spoken word of the name ‘Jesus Christ.’ Rev Danny believed in the power of declaring ‘in the blood of Jesus,’ which the Bible said His Blood has cleansed and forgiven us from sins (Heb 9:14), so that we are without blemish in front of God.

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! (Heb 9:14)

The fact that we accepted Jesus Christ into our lives shows that His Blood had been applied into our lives. The blood of Jesus not only protects our life but also our goods and properties. Rev Danny shared how he would pray in the name of Jesus every time he got onto the airplane.

He shared about how powerful prayer is in a true life-threatening event. Two planes collided at the Canary Islands airport 50 years ago, when one was landing and the other was taking off. The one that was landing burst into flames, killing everyone in the plane. But sitting on the other plane (that was taking off) was Norman Williams, who was a spirit-filled believer. While he was praying and rejoicing in the Lord, he suddenly realized the impending collision. Quickly, he undid his seatbelt, ran down the aisle, and found the spot to escape from the ceiling. He then ran to the edge of the wing, and jumped off the plane that was then still hovering 50 feet above the ground. While declaring the name ‘Jesus Christ,’ he jumped onto the ground breaking both of his ankles, yet he was able to run 100 meters to safety. Little did he know, Norman’s mother was also prompted to pray for him back home for a few days before his flight.

“That had something to do with God’s ability to protect you. I believe in what the blood of Jesus can do for you,” said Rev Danny.

So, how do develop faith in Christ?

Rev Danny shared that if you are a born-again Christian, God must have deposited a measure of faith in you (Rom 12:3). When you accept Christ, you become a born-again in the realm of spirit. You have the spirit of God in you (John 3:5-8). And because Jesus Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33), we have world-overcoming faith inside of us!

⁵Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. ⁶Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. ⁷You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ ⁸The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:5-8)

Secondly, faith like muscles must be built. An interesting fact is that we have as many muscles today as the day we were born. “We often hear Christians praying to the Lord to give them more faith. But have you heard of an athlete praying to the Lord to give him (or her) more muscles?” said Rev Danny. All athletes know that they should exercise and diet to build muscles. Likewise, we need to develop our faith by hearing the Word of God. And one of the ways of hearing the Word of God is to declare it from our mouth the promises and commandments in the Bible.

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8)

Because of that, Rev Danny always prayed and declared for the protection of the blood of Jesus Christ over his life. Hence, no believers should be fearful of the devils’ attack because Jesus has overcome him (Rev 12:11). Rev 12:11 tells us that we have three weapons to triumph over the devil, which is the blood of Jesus Christ (i.e. blood of the lamb), our declaration of our faith (i.e. word of their testimony), and total commitment to Jesus Christ (i.e. they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death).

(Rev 12:11)

“You are taken out from the realm of darkness into the Kingdom of Light. Because of that, darkness no longer has any authority on you because you’re no longer in that Kingdom. Start looking at Scripture to see what the Blood of Jesus has done for you. Put it in your mouth and start declaring what Jesus has done, and faith will start working in you,” said Rev Danny.

⁷In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace (Eph 1:7)

⁹Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! (Romans 5:9)

¹²And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. (Heb 13:12)

¹³For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, ¹⁴in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Col 1:13-14)

In Jesus Christ, we are victorious! Speak words of victory from the Words of the Bible, not defeat!
